Winter in Clay country

Framed.    This was the last piece I did in the Jemez in the Fall of 2019 before the Covid lockdowns.   It was done in Gilman at a private pond, from the road.   I never touched it at home.  There are times I can’t touch a piece done on location regardless of a shifting opinion about its finish that I struggle with.  Here is a moment that I will never repeat again, never experience and that is all I need  as it grows stronger  over time in my memory.  It is a moment of pleasure and gratitude for having been there in the Jemez fall, it’s colors, it guiet and it solid beauty.
